Daily Health and Safety Measures | |
---|---|
COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines Booklet | Families will all receive in hard copy and have access to this booklet online in order to follow safety procedures put in place. |
Health Screenings | Staff and children will complete a health screening with temperature checks at arrival to school, 11:45 am, 1:00 pm, and 2:45 pm. |
Fogger | Mid-day during recess time and at the end of the school day, a Bruun Disinfectant Cold Fogger will be used in the Primary and Elementary rooms to disinfect the areas with a vegetable-based disinfectant. |
UV Light Wands | Mojaworks Microphobe UV light wands will be used to disinfect materials throughout the day due to their safety and efficacy. |
Masks | All staff and children will be required to wear masks. |
Open Windows | Windows will be open when able to allow for increased air exchange. At a minimum, this will occur first thing in the morning, mid-morning while the children leave the area for a snack, and during afternoon recess. |
Hand Washing | Hand washing will occur regularly throughout the day included but not limited to arrival, before snack, after snack, before morning dismissal/lunch, after lunch, after recess, before afternoon dismissal, and after restroom use. |
Extended Outdoor Use | Classroom teachers will use the outdoor space for a mid-day break and may use the outdoor space for learning as well (i.e. nature walks, gardening, tables outside, painting, etc.). |
Limited Access | Parents will drop off and pick up their children outside. Visitors will not enter classroom space while in session. |
Small Group Size | Class size is limited at this time. |
Disinfectant | Commonly used surfaces such as doorknobs, tables, and chairs will be regularly wiped with disinfectant at least once in the morning, mid-day, and after dismissal. |
Social Distancing | Children will learn how to social distance in Primary and Elementary rooms in a positive and supportive manner. Social distancing circles will be used to mark the appropriate distance. All work tables have one chair and the floor is marked for appropriate placement of work mats. Classroom groups will not mix during the standard school hours. |
Material Rotation | After use, materials will be placed on a special shelf for disinfecting. Once materials are disinfected by staff they are returned to their ‘home’ as a work choice. |
Food | Food preparation activities are suspended for the time being. Children are asked to bring a marked water bottle and a snack to school. |
Events | Events are held virtually or are cancelled at this time. |
Home Learning Support | Families will receive home learning support from staff when children stay home for safety or health reasons. |
