Our class celebrated Diwali with the elementary students with the help of Nikhil’s and Mukti’s parents. They spoke about the history and events that take place during this week-long celebration. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is the most celebrated occasion in India and the one that children look forward to the most. Some of the elementary children even got to wear beautiful traditional Indian clothing. Like how families would do in India, all the children were delighted to receive treats to bring home with them. Despite the cool weather, the highlight of the celebration was the sparkles we all had the chance to light outside.
