To learn about the formation and parts of rivers, it is best to see it in action! The Elementary students enjoyed seeing the river literally be unearthed by water, and then learned about the deposits of sediment that form at the end of rivers, within lakes, reservoirs, bays, and oceans. The Upper Elementary students formed the river out of clay, and after several days of drying, it was ready to be covered with sand and presented to the class. The students are learning about the work of water in the classroom, and this presentation begins a series of science lessons and experiments about the water cycle, the properties of water, how rivers flow, and erosion by water. This presentation was a fun experience for the students!
